Learning Curve Day Nursery is divided into three main sections, each one carefully designed to support and nurture your child as they grow and develop, building skills and confidence along the way.
If your child comes to Learning Curve Day Nursery as a baby, they will start their time in Honey Street as a Busy Bee.
Here they will explore their environment with plenty of adult interaction and engagement. We have a wide range of equipment available to encourage and aid their discovery, and we like to invite siblings to come for a play too!
Honey Street facilities include:
When your child moves into Walnut Grove around the time of their second birthday, they will become a Scampering Squirrel. Here they will be introduced to the wider nursery environment and gently introduced to new play and learning activities. Each day follows a familiar routine to help them feel secure.
Our Squirrels have a large playroom with easy access to their own secure paved play area outdoors. They are free to choose where and how their learning takes place, with playtime including painting, water and sand play, construction blocks, jigsaw-making, baking as well as exploring the garden with the older children. They also enjoy regular story time, singing and dancing.
In Walnut Grove we encourage the children to be independent; identifying their own peg and coat and learning to feed themselves at snack and lunch time. We promote good hygiene in the children and ensure they wash their hands before and after lunch. Most children start toilet training during their time as a Squirrel.
When your child moves to Badgers Bank around the time of their third birthday, they will become a Curious Cub.
The team in Badgers Bank base the children’s learning on their personal interests, building on the skills they have developed earlier in the nursery. They continue to learn through play, with every child developing at their own pace and facilitated by our experienced staff. Activities including cooking, gardening, music and drama.
We encourage the children to take responsibility for themselves in preparation for their transition to school. This includes showing respect for others and their surrounding environment.
Kat, our qualified chef cooks the children nutritionally balanced, wholesome meals made with the finest ingredients. All main meals are served with seasonal vegetables and salads, with some of the produce being sourced and grown by the children in the garden.
We provide breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and tea throughout the day, with a choice of water or organic milk to drink. A choice of desserts, fresh fruit, ice-cream and yoghurt is offered for pudding.
Individual dietary requirements can be catered for, and Kat is always happy to discuss any food allergies or intolerances.
Experience our lovely nursery for yourself. We’d love to show you and your little one around, and find out what you are looking for in a nursery setting. You can meet the team, and see all the fun and learning that goes on here.
